April 15th – Spring Painting

Students will use large toned paper to draw and cut out an animal. We will use oil pastels to add color to our animals.

April 22nd – Earth Day Recycle Sculptures

In celebration of Earth Day we will create a sculpture from recycled materials: scrap paper, cardboard, plastic, etc. If you would like to bring in materials from your recycling bin, feel free to do so.

April 29th – Paper Weaving Revival

Students will choose a color scheme and create a paper weaving. Once the weaving is complete we will cut shapes from black paper and place it over top to reveal the weaving through negative space.

May 6th – Huchiol Yarn Painting

Students will draw a design on cardboard and then glue yarn down over the lines to create a painting with yarn.

February 25th – Mardi Gras

Students will create a 3D paper mask for Mardi Gras!

March 4th – Glue and Pastel Chalk Drawings

Students will create a scene by drawing a picture and outlining  the pencil with glue. Once the glue is dry students will fill in each shape with chalk pastel while the glue will act as a line of division for color.
