Beginning Ceramics - July

Beginning Ceramics - July

Learn how to create with clay in our Beginning Ceramics class! In this class, students will hand build a vessel out of clay in week 1, and glaze it in week 2. Students must take this class before signing up for Weeknight Ceramics (except for students who have already attended several drop-in classes prior to 2020). In drop-in classes, students will be able to continue with their clay work in handbuilding, wheel throwing, and anything else that piques their interest in ceramics!

Please see below regarding changes we have made since class has reopened this year:

  1. All students must register online before class, instead of actually “dropping in” and paying in cash, as we used to do.

  2. Before registering for Weeknight Classes, students must have either taken our 2-week Beginning Ceramics course, or have already attended several drop-in ceramics classes prior to 2020.

  3. The first two Tuesdays of each month will be devoted to Beginning Ceramics students. This means that Weeknight students shouldn’t expect in-depth instruction from the teacher because her time will be focused on teaching Beginning Ceramics students.

  4. Glaze will no longer be purchased per piece; instead, we have increased the class fee by $2 per class to cover glaze costs.

  5. Works-in-progress can be left at the studio, but students must bring home their bag of clay at the end of class. If the parking lot is full and you must park further away, you can always drop off your clay at the door and then park (if you don’t want to carry your clay a long way).
