This class will focus on making bowls on the wheel. Students should already be able to throw a basic cylinder on the wheel - in this class, we’ll work on widening the cylinder into bowl forms while maintaining strength and integrity in the piece, as well as techniques for trimming feet for bowls. After making a number of objects, we’ll glaze and fire our final pieces with food safe glaze to be taken home.
To take this class, you must have taken at least two sessions of Intro to Wheel Throwing with us (or the equivalent at a different institution). Contact us if you have questions about your eligibility for the class.
Open Studio Option: After students have taken one Intro ceramics class with us, they are welcome to join us at Open Studio on Tuesday evenings! For Open Studio, students are asked to purchase a bag of clay and associated glaze (you can purchase on our website, HERE)
