Intro to Ceramics

In this class, students will learn the basics of working with clay. Students well learn basic handbuilding skills such as pinching, coiling, and slab building, and will also get a chance to throw on the potters wheel. After finished pieces are bisque fired, students will learn how to paint their work with glaze so they can take home their cups and bowls and use them every day!

Students can also choose to attend our Open Studio for ceramics on Thursday evenings ($10/night) to spend extra time on their work.

Materials: Provided

Location: EHS Art Room. The entrance is located on the north-east corner of the building - it will be the first corner that you see if you enter the high school campus from the Governors Parkway entrance. Come in through the set of double glass doors with black and white curtains on the inside, labeled "Entrance 16." Do not enter through the main entrance to EHS or through the EAC gallery.
