“MOVEMENT” Banner Contest!
Submission Deadline: Tuesday, April 30th
FREE Submission and open to ALL AGES
ARTWORK THEME:
Think about the idea of “Movement” within your town or neighborhood when making your artwork. What kind of movement do you see when you venture out? Do you see people walking, biking, driving? Do you see birds flying, kids playing, trucks working? Use any drawing, painting, or digital media to show us your interpretation of movement in our community!
OVERVIEW:
Submit your artwork for the 2024 “Movement” themed Street Banner Contest!
16 designs will be chosen for display on light posts throughout Edwardsville.
Open to students and artists who reside within District 7 geographic boundaries, or attend District 7 schools.

Winning banner designs will be divided by grade, with two winners per grade group:
K - 2nd | 3rd - 5th | 6th - 8th | High School | College | Adult

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
Theme: Design your work around the 2024 theme of “Movement.” Within District 7 boundaries what kind of movement do you see when you venture out?
Size: Submissions can be created on the downloadable template (below) or on a similar size piece of paper/canvas. Larger artworks should be designed in a vertical format at no less than 12” wide x 20” tall. If creating digital works please provide 300 dpi files.
Medium: You may use any medium of your choice. (ie. markers, colored pencils, paint, watercolors, digital illustration, photography, etc.)
Submit: Scan or photograph your final image and email it to office@edwardsvilleartscenter.com with the subject line “Banner Contest Submission” Include your name, home address, email address, age group category (grade entered in the 2023/2024 school year), materials used, and contact phone number with your submission.
Save: Save your original work! Winners will be asked to bring the original work to the Edwardsville Arts Center.
